Hertless Brothers Roof Care

Special Care
The life of a well-designed roof can be prolonged by a few simple measures: A roof should never be used as a storage area, since most roofing designs do not allow for unusual, uneven loading. Secondly, roofs should not be used as walkways or for other traffic. Third, all openings made in roof surfaces for lines or equipment should be properly finished and inspected by trained workmen. This point is the one most often found to be a major factor in roofing failures. Finally, drainage systems should be inspected often and cleaned when necessary.

Touring Your Roof
You and your plant maintainance or engineering staff are invited to accompany a representative of Hertless Brothers on a tour of your roofing system. We will carefully examine it for a number of things: surface cracking or blistering, joint openings, roof deck staining, improperly tied-in equipment or lines, and/or defective flooring. After inspection we will advise on proper treatment. Whether the solution is a simple patch, or, if an entire re-roofing is indicated, you are under no obligation whatsoever until you decide on the most feasible solution. We will be happy to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of temporary roofing protection in situations where a building has nearly outlived its useful life.

Why Inspect Your Roof Now?
Based on our experience and background, we find that many re-roofing projects could have been delayed or avoided entirely if proper measures were taken in advance. While many roofs last 20 years or more, others fail prematurely only because they were totally ignored or were repaired by untrained personnel. Upon completion of a new roof, Hertless Brothers can assist your personnel in creating inspection and maintainance programs designed to get maximum life out of your roofing system.
